2012

Organising an event in the build-up to 2012?

Located less than 30 minutes away from Stratford, The Royal Horticultural Halls & Conference Centre, in central London, is the perfect venue for any organiser wanting a Royal connection for their event, whether it’s a conference, a banquet or a product launch.

Purpose built

Comprising two halls – the Lawrence and the Lindley – and a purpose built conference centre, The RHH is in the heart of Westminster and offers every facility required, including excellent green credentials for recycling and sustainability.

The venue was built by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), the UK’s leading gardening charity, at the beginning of the 20th century to house its London Flower Shows, which still take place on a regular basis. The Lindley Hall opened in 1904 and is a superb example of the grace and splendour of the Edwardian age. The stunning glass-vaulted ceiling never fails to impress and the space is truly flexible, making a wonderful backdrop for a variety of events.

Across the road is the Lawrence Hall. Opened in 1928 to considerable acclaim, and receiving a RIBA Award in 1929, the Lawrence Hall is an iconic Art Deco Grade II Listed Building. And rightly so – the hall, with its great transverse arches and natural light flooding in through the clerestory windows, domed roof lights and end wall windows, is breathtaking. Yet it is a space you can make your own, thanks to intelligent lighting and sound systems and the ability to achieve complete blackout.

Alongside is the purpose built Conference Centre, offering 7 conference rooms with capacities ranging from 15 boardroom style to 200 theatre style. All rooms have an abundance of natural daylight, with air conditioning and AV equipment.

Choosing the right venue

For conferences, presentations, banquets or dinner dances for under 500 guests and reception for 650, choose the Lindley. View the Lawrence if you’re planning a dinner for 600+, a theatre style presentation for up to 1000 or a reception for up to 1,500.

Visitor attractions

Perhaps one of the more appealing factors about RHH is its prime location. Set in the heart of Westminster, the halls benefit from a multitude of ‘after hours’ attractions for visitors including bars, theatres and iconic sights. For organisers, an abundance of hotel rooms and a huge choice of restaurants make this an excellent destination.
